5 unique traditions around the world

Each region has its own habits. Some places in the world have a unique tradition that even possible for some people it will sound strange or funny. However, the tradition is believed and still practiced in some places. Here are five unique traditions from around the world.



1. Ask permission for reincarnation


Believe it or not, this tradition is still going until now. China has banned Buddhist monks in Tibet reincarnating without government permission. According to the Law issued by the State Administration for Religious Affairs of China in 2007, there is a clause which expressly establishes procedures for the reincarnation of Buddhist monks.

2. Not allowed to send red Christmas cards


Never send red Christmas cards to the Japanese. Sending red Christmas cards is bad etiquette because in Japan usual funeral notice printed in red card.

3. Day of the Goose


Goose Day was held in Bilbao, Spain. Goose hung over the harbor, while a man will pass on the boat and tried to take the goose. The men will be lifted and plunged into the water until they managed to pull goose neck. This tradition was absolutely terrible and a little bit cruel.

4. Not Allowed to Give Thumbs up Hand


For those of you who plan to travel to Greece, there are important things you should know, which is prohibited thumbs-up hand. Gave a thumbs up to whoever is considered rude and not acceptable in this country. So, you should not make it a habit to stretch your thumb on others, such as what you normally do in your place.

5. Nets and toy spiders bring good luck


In Ukraine, the local community has a unique habits, decorate the Christmas tree with toys and fake cobwebs. It is believed to bring good luck. Although it sounds strange, this tradition is still deeply embedded in society.
